An insider close to the show has said; “Bosses tried to make it work over here. But they have now conceded that it is not going to and that it is time to focus on other things. It was a good format with good judges, but viewers here in Britain just did not connect with it like the people did in America.”

However, the problem is believed to be the scheduling and promotion of the programme rather than the quality of the show. The BBC’s first mistake was moving the series from January to April as the dancers had to go against a heat wave in the first few weeks, as well as having to compete with Britain’s Got Talent; a very popular show on ITV. Another big mistake the BBC made was moving the shows airtime to 5.30pm, viewers said they often forgot the show was on or they were unable to tune in at the earlier time. Moreover, the promotion for the show was not heavy enough, the series was hardly shown to be returning; many dancers, fans, and potential viewers did not know of its return until after.

The BBC seemed to have messed this one up to a point where it cannot be picked up again; judge Nigel Lythgoe had previously regenerated American Idol, so for So You Think You Can Dance, it was thought the same could be done, but so many of the factors of the show having not been handled properly has instead lead to the show failing to become as successful here as it is in the US. When compared to the numerous Cowell-based shows, So You Think You Can Dance is more credible and offers more true talent and the judges; Nigel Lythgoe, Arlene Phillips, Louise Redknapp and Sisco Gomez, have definitely discovered some greatly talented people through the show, so it is a shame that it is being cancelled.

The five girls; Frankie Sandford, Vanessa White, Una Healy, Mollie King and Rochelle Wiseman débuted in 2008 with ‘This is Love’ which stayed in the charts for seventeen weeks. Since, they have released three albums which have all been in the UK Top 10 Albums Chart. Also, out of the 9 singles they have released, 8 have been UK Top Ten singles, 4 of which were from their first album Chasing Lights. In September 2010, the band had sold 2.5 million records in just the UK, having gone up since.

In June 2009, the Saturdays began they first tour; The Work Tour, in the UK and began creating their second album Wordshaker. This too made it into the UK Albums Chart at number nine, as well as the Top Ten singles chart with ‘Forever is Over’ which placed number two, and ‘Ego.’

The girls also released a mini album called Headlines, in August 2010, with the much loved songs; ‘Missing You’ and ‘Higher.’ Soon after, they went on an accompanying tour; The Headlines Tour, and have announced that they will be going on another tour in December of this year.

He has gone through RiRi Productions and is currently putting together a team of dancers, for X Factors’ Cher Llyods’ first pop video. Cher has worked with producers and songwriters Savan Kotecha, Red One and Max Martin for her debut song.

From the two dance auditions previously held he said there have been a lot of good dancers come through so the video should be good. Tommy says the video is something to look out for.

Jessie J began first by writing tracks with and for established artists, one track she co wrote was Party In The U.S.A with Miley Cyrus.

In February 2011 Jessie J won the Critic’s Choice for the Brit Awards and was previously voted BBC Sound of 2011.

Her debut single Do It Like A Dude peaked at number 2 in the UK charts followed up with the hugely successful single Price Tag featuring B.o.B. which entered the charts in the UK, Ireland and New Zealand at number 1.

Jessie J will be performing her brand new single Nobody’s Perfect on Saturday.

She will be performing her new hit single, “Broken Heels”. Alexandra has had a great start to her career gaining number ones with “Hallelujah” and recently with “Bad Boys” (featuring Flo Rida).

Her debut album has already gone platinum in the UK having sold over 495,000, so far. She has also released a limited edition album which has songs which she performed on the X Factor Show.
